Our leadership team
Joining SCR in 1989, Jo’s career began focused on Kidnap & Extortion risks, working with clients globally and supporting them through complex incidents across geographies and industry sectors. As the risk landscape evolved, Jo’s expertise has expanded to include Terrorism, Political Violence, Accident and Health, Evacuation, Piracy, and Active Assailant. Notably, in 2015, Jo was an advisor to the UK Government on the Counter-Terrorism & Security Bill, which focused on Terrorism Kidnapping and ransom payments.
Jo is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, and is licensed by the Security Industry Association.
Jo speaks both English and German.
Richard joined SCR as a graduate in 2001, and now has over 20 years insurance industry experience, specialising in the people risks arena, encompassing Kidnap & Ransom, Active Assailant, Emergency Medical and Political Evacuation, and high-risk Accident & Health.
Richard is responsible for the management of SCR’s Kidnap & Ransom and Active Assailant portfolio, and business development.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Art with Honors degree in Modern Language Studies, specialising in French, Spanish and Portuguese, from the University of Nottingham. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII). On top of his other languages, Richard also speaks German.
Ian joined SCR in 2019 and leads our Accident & Health team and has over 15 years’ insurance and reinsurance experience. Ian’s role includes the management of a diverse Accident & Health/ Contingency portfolio, which includes the strategic development of our corporate and sports business, and the management of key client and carrier relationships.
Ian is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), and has a first-class honours degree from Bournemouth University.
Rob is the Head of Alert:24, where he also previously held the positions of Head of Risk Advisory and Head of Crisis Support, leading SCR’s crisis response and consulting services.
Before joining SCR, Rob served as an Officer in the British Army for five years and saw several operational tours during that time. Rob is an experienced security and crisis management professional, and has worked with many of the world’s largest organisations and delivered complex solutions globally.
He is a graduate of The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Nottingham University.
William heads up SCR’s activities in Asia Pacific where he helps businesses understand and mitigate a spectrum of security related risks. He has extensive experience in assisting companies in Asia Pacific to meet their Duty of Care obligations while operating in challenging environments.
Will began his career with SCR in 2006, moving to Singapore in November 2022 to take up his current role.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations & Philosophy from the University of St Andrews. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance.
William speaks English and is currently studying Japanese.
